Centre for Renewable Energy

The Centre for Renewable Energy is the backbone of research to support renewable energy development in the Territory.

Energy plays a central role in developing more sustainable livelihoods and economies in northern and central Australia and neighbouring countries. Energy sustainability will become an issue in this endeavour unless it is properly addressed.

The Centre for Renewable Energy (CRE) was established through a partnership.between Charles Darwin University and the Northern Territory Government.

CRE is working to promote the Territory’s renewable energy sector and to provide leadership on the deployment of renewable energy and low emissions and energy efficient technologies.
