With this ICI program it is expected a total of 3200 ha of cashews will be developed Integrated cashew improvement (ICI) program developed by CDU researchers to be appliedto East Timor. Objectives: to produce organic cashew create 1600 ha of new cashew orchards with high yielding varieties improve productivity of the 800 ha of existing cashew orchards train 16 cashew ICI program trainers and 800 cashew farmers establish 4 village-based small scale cashew nut processing mills determine the best profitable cashew production line. Objectives will be achieved through: conducting an initial survey implementing the ICI program introducing the small scale cashew nut processing program and exploring national and international cashew market chains.
